Could someone suggest something that I could put on the edges of my work tops in my kitchen. The hound keeps jumping up on the scrounge ..... I'm trying the double sided tape but it doesn't seem to be much of a deterrent. I'm also trying to keep as much clear as I possibly can, but it is a kitchen!!! Is there a smell that she'd particularly dislike that might mask all the yummy ones???  I know, what a daft question on a doggy forum! But any ideas I'd be very grateful.

On the odd occaision that I have to leave something on the worksurface I put it right at the back and put something like an old baking tin in front so that IF they do what they KNOW they shouldnt there is an almighty crash as soon as any part of them touches down on the work surface and normally a huge bundle for the door, so everyone can sit there looking innocent!

Works a treat except when one of the cats decides to help out by standing on the counter flicking food down to his canine palls (grrr). I have solved this one by using warm trays out of the oven, the cat is sensible enough not to tred on anything hot having had a bad experience a few years ago when stealing from a neighbours BBQ.
