How long should it take to receive the KC papers through for my puppy the breeder said it would be about 6 weeks but it's more like 8 now. Is there any way to check up with the KC that the breeder has sent them off?

When I registered my puppies back in May it only took me about a week to get them back! There could be a backlog of course but 8 weeks does seem very unusual.

These days they seem to do them within 2 weeks. With my last litter it only took 5 days from me sending them off in the post to getting them back on my doorstep! I would be a bit wary of a breeder who says it takes 8 weeks myself as I think that is unheard of in the last 3 years or so.
The breeder should have given you these paper when you collected your pup.If you give the kennel club a ring they will ask for breed and registration numbers of sire and dam they will tell you if the litter has been registered. You should be able to find the numbers on the pedigree under their names.

The breeder I got my pup from hadn't yet registered the litter the first time we went to see pups at 6 weeks old. By the time we collected pup at 8 weeks she had registered litter and gave me my papers for change of ownership so it took her less than 2 weeks to receive the registration back. When I sent them off to register change of ownership I had them back within about 10 days.
Did you get anything signed to say that the K.C papers would follow in the post?
