Hi! Well, here's my question...

Sometimes when i get home or if someone comes over and my Lab Buddy gets really excited he starts coughing and gagging...what does this mean?? Should i be worried??

ClaireyS- No, it's not kennel cough..he had that before and this is not it because he only does it when he gets really excited.Thanks for your reply! :)

To be "sure" - on the internet - not easy Talusha ;)  Have you tried asking your vet?

I think it would a good idea to take him to the vet.  Best to get him checked over by a professional rather than diagnosed on the internet.

Tigger often coughs and gags when she sees us and we had it investigated and the vet says that her throat has been scarred by KC previously.  She also does it when we take her off the bench to go in the ring.

or it could be canine herpes virus which attcks the upper repiratory  tracts which causes mild or inapparent repiratory disease in adult dogs.
