hi, i dont know why, but my 3 year old male golden retriever is scared of me. when i go to go near him he looks terrified, and when i take him on a walk he always tries to run away from me, i have no idea why he dows this, i have had him since december 2003, and i he has never done this before, help me if you can please

Have you scared him recently, stepped on him, prehaps shut him in the door etc? Try reassuring him let him come to you and talk softly to him. I would also get him checked out by a vet incase he has a medical problem see as this isnt his usual behaviour.

Can you give a little bit more detail, ie, what you do before he gets scared, etc, has anthing changed in his life recently? What is/was your relationship like with him normally? :)

Dont know much about your breed but I know that in my own breed they go through several stages of fear throughout the 1st few years. Not sure if this is applicable to all dogs but certainly with my own. Might be worth having another read about your breed :)

You say you had him from Dec 2003 so I assume he is a rescue dog ?

What was his background before you got him ?

Has there been anything recently that may have triggered his recent change of behaviour ?
