I've just sent a letter to THE SUN newspaper. It would be great if others could send e-mails to all their newspapers (or THE SUN also) where ever they are to campaign against ebay allowing dogs and other animals to be sold on ebay!
Hello,
I am Rebecca Harris aged 24, a very active animal lover that would like to bring to your attention the mistreatment of animals at the hands of Ebay. Ebay allows Dogs to be be brought and bided on in China. Most of the dogs look ill or scared and further more the sellers often offer world-wide shipping! I saw on one auction a question in English asked by someone in france. Asking how much to ship to france! The seller answered giving details of the price. Think how long that puppy would be in a travel create in a plane alone!
I think this would be a great story to cover after the bad press for ebay recently with the sale of Live 8 tickets. People will be interested and I'm sure outraged. If you manage to get ebay to back down and stop the sale of dogs and other live animals you'd really have something to talk about.
The following link is to the pages on ebay China selling dogs

Kind regards,
Rebecca Harris of Southall, Greater London.

Becks, Ebay's own rules forbid the selling of live animals this way.

Only here! Someone I know asked ebay about this and they said that in china their rules are diffrent, but they blocked the dogs coming up in searches here. That means they do allow it there!
Plus I'd like to add. Ebay UK actucally allows fish and snails to be sold. =/
Ebay suck! They have fraudsters and everything on the motors section! If your selling your car on Ebay be EXTREMLY careful who you sell it to! You could get caught in the trap by one of these people! I got one, didnt fall for it, but many do and lose alot of money and their car! Only sell anything on ebay to anyone who has alot of possitive feedback! Ive now cancelled my registration and i no longer will use ebay to buy or sell anything again!
They also have people selling fertilised duck eggs on Ebay. I think there needs to be more restrictions and policing of Ebay to filter out things like this. I will send a letter too.

With reference to selling fertilised eggs:
You can buy all sorts of fertilised eggs from specialist magazines (game birds etc). It is common practise. I honestly do not see what the difference is between buying from a magazine or the internet. They are both forms of media after all.
Have you written to or attempted to contact Ebay?

I know a lady who has wrote to ebay before. They say they allow it as in China its allowed. i don't think thats a very good excuse they are an american company they can just simply stop the sale of these dogs just like that. They arn't forced to allow it.
