So.....who's been reading it and what do you think?

I finished it yesterday and must say was impressed again with the book, it was well worth waiting for.  :D  Thought that there were some brilliant twists to the plot and I shed a few tears towards the end...

Can't wait for the last book to be brought out now though I know its going to be a while....my fault for reading practically solidly for 24 hours!!!

Mine was delivered whilst I was away, ive been resisting temptation to start it though until ive finished reading the book im already on :)

Charanda you're obviously worse than me for reading when you get your head stuck in a good book :-)  Don't give any of it away though- I'm only on Chapter 9.  I *think* I've figured out a few of the people/plots though so will have to wait until I get to the thick of the book to see if my theories are correct :-)  Glad it's worth waiting for :-)

Stacey - I'm terrible when I get my head into a book!!  OH despairs with me - he buys me a book hoping that it'll keep me quiet for a while so that he can have PlayStation time (he's only allowed to play when I've got something else to occupy me as I hate the things)!! but I've generally finished them within a couple of days!!  :D

The DaVinci Code I read from cover to cover one Sunday and Harry Potter took from Saturday afternoon through until Sunday lunchtime!!  Couldn't believe how the time flew though - I remember it being 6pm Saturday evening and the next thing I knew it was 11.45pm!!!  :-)

I won't give anything away - you'll have to let me know what you think when you've finished :-)

I have it, but i daren't read it after flicking through it, i know what some of the plot is, and i don't think i'm gonna like it when i read that particular bit! I know i shouldn't have looked!!

I also couldn't put it down.  Thought it was so much better than the Order of the Phoenix.  As you say, great twists.  Not sure about whether the HBP (not wanting to give away anything to those who haven't read it yet) is on LV's side or whether he is double-crossing and will come good in the end.  I've now started re-reading the earlier books to see if there's any clues.  Lots of anticipation built up at the end of the book and goodness knows how long we are going to have to wait until the next one.  I want answers now!!!!!

Loved it, read it in less than 10 hours with sleep breaks. Million times better than OOTP. Lucy you cheated! Read it anyway.
- By JenP Date 19.07.05 09:22 UTC
Got to be one of the best so far.  Not sure about HBP either - the clues indicate both ways.  Given the ending of this one, the last one will be quite different from what I expected - can't wait :D

I like the way that the characters have grown up throughout the books.  You can definitely see that Harry has become a young man and in the next book he will become of age.  I can't wait for the next one though I think I'll have a while to wait!!

May have to read it again this weekend.  I'm losing the TV as of Thursday when The Ashes start - OH will be glued to it for the next few weeks!!  :D

I dozed off in the sun whilst reading it...BAD MOVE.
I must be the first person in britain to have a  harry potter shaped white patch on my belly when the rest has sunburn :D

Well finished reading the book last night- shed some tears - thought it was brilliant, terrible about *him* dying though and the *other one* who double crossed I thought awful although I was rather pleased since I never liked him anyway and found it quite hard to believe that he was meant to be a good guy in the previous books :-(  Agree with JenP can't wait for the next book since the ending to this one was quite different.

Thanks for that :(

I am at chapter 7
- By JenP Date 23.07.05 12:32 UTC
Oh No Mel   If it's any consolation I don't think all is as it seems and further twists and turns are going to be revealed in the last book.
- By Rosemarie [gb] Date 23.07.05 14:22 UTC
Absolutely agree that the ending is not all it seems.  Plenty of room for conspiracy theories and further double-crossing.  The wait for the next book is going to be unbearable.
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 23.07.05 14:25 UTC
I would have thought that I could have kept away from spoilers on here though ...I think posting ANY sort of spoiler 1 weeks after the book comes out is rather idiotic from anyone.

For what it's worth ...there are quite a few people who are having to wait for the book for one reason or another and I do think that waiting before writing any spoilers is a Good Thing

I mean, I now know that it is a man who dies ..I also know that someone who we previously thought good is, apparantly bad. Not huge spoilers (especially to the people who have already read it) but it DOES take the edge off a bit

I agree with Melodysk...I am at Chapter 10. Even these seemigly minor snippets of information have revealed a fair bit and spoiled the suspense a little. Could you maybe think before you post next time and put yourself in the position of someone who hasn't read the whole book? Would you want the ending spoiled for you?
- By slobdog [gb] Date 23.07.05 20:15 UTC
Don't read it then!  The thread is entitled Harry Potter.  That kind of gives you a clue of the content!

Actually it should be Harry Potter and the waste of Web Space!

:D
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 23.07.05 20:59 UTC
Ho hum ....always had to be one

If you read the thread ..all of it, you would have seen that the talk was NOT about what was in the book
- By colliesrus [gb] Date 23.07.05 18:25 UTC
 Honestly!
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 23.07.05 18:46 UTC
'Honestly' at who?
- By colliesrus [gb] Date 24.07.05 16:02 UTC
At the ppl who are giving away HUGE spoilers. Luckily for me, I read the book immediately in a couple of days.

By the way, just because the thread is called Harry Potter doesn't mean ppl shouldn't read it in case someone gives away the story line, ppl usually assume other posters would be sensitve enough to realise that just because they have finished reading the book, many others wont have.
- By ClaireyS Date 25.07.05 11:53 UTC
Im glad Melodys post jumped out at me for some reason before I read the other posts so I didnt read them all but I did read that it is a male that dies :(

im only on chapter one :D :D
