Hi every one

thank you to all the people wishing Kiara and myself well on my post
"Well its started (I think)

I am so proud of Kiara and all the pups.

Had a vet check today and she said they are all fine and healthy pups that are a good size.  She said Kiara is looking really healthy.

The pups are so cute, i am hoping to have some pictures tomorrow if anyone would like to have a look.

QUick question do you give a puppy pack with the pups from a company like Skinners, ( and which would you reccomend dont mind any costs)or make one up yourself.

Even if use one of the company ones I am still going to add some of my own things.

I have just been making my own puppy packs.  I have included a brush, collar and lead, toys to play with and a large bag of dog food to take home with them and also as much information about the breed as I can think of aswell as any other useful contacts etc.  I don't really know if these are the correct items to put in but all of the new families seem to be well pleased.  It may be a good idea to include a piece of vet bed or something which has their normal scent on it to take with them too. This may help them settle down in their new homes a bit better. Just a thought.  Christine x

I make up my own too, apart from food and a bit of bedding I make up a folder of their documents, advise and information and I like to include a couple of photos of parents and the litter when they were tiny together with one of the individual when small, they seem to like that :).

thanks guys

thinking will stick to my own,

was going to give some leaflets about owning a dog microchipping etc loads of breed info a calander of what to expect for the first year, times for jabs diet sheet, exercise.  Some usefull contacts info in a folder for new owner.

For pup some toys, large sack of puppy food, two bowls possibly collar and lead set,  and a hand glove brush as my breed dont need a lot of breeding.

Just want to make sure pups have the v best start.  going to give each pup a square of the vet bed when they leave and dont want to miss anything out

Am already dreading them leaving and they are 1 day old!

Don't forget to give the pups your home phone number just in case they ever want to phone home. I do !

I have always keep meaning to ask what sort of leaflets people give with pups?    I give breed specific leaflets but I would like some general training, socialisation etc. leaflets to be included too....   Does anyone have their own puppy pack information leaflets they would like to share so I can keep them on file?

Thanks

Christine, send me your e-mail and I will forward you my puppy pack info, crate training, playbiting, toilet training, recall etc etc etc, puppies and babie, puppies and children...... ad infinitum lol ...  It's 25 pages long though :D so may take some time dowloading it to you ;) You can take out of it what you want.  I also do a history of the Labrador, explaining its existance and orignal work.
