on the pedigree what does the CH mean before the dogs name?
- By sally12 [gb] Date 23.07.05 10:13 UTC
Ch usually in red means champion

If it is handwritten I have known some breeders photocopy the pedigree so as not to rewrite it, and then some would underline the champions in red.  (Before I ahd a computer Muggins here worote them all out individually by had, and you would make a mistake in the last line and have to start again!).

Or of course it could be the Kennel Club one and the cheapest one is in Black and White only.

Basic Kennel Club pedigrees don't highlight the titles either ie CH is in black.

When hand writing or printing off pedigrees for my dogs I never put any colour on them except black. I think if people really want to know and really want to learn about their dog they will as the OP has done is ask.

I'd rather have people ask then just flash round a pedigree because it has lots of pretty colours on it! One pedigree I saw a while back had working test winners in pink FT ch & FTA winners in green and sh champions in red. Full champions in purple/deep blue colour!

Actually I think I'd just confused by which colour to use! So for accuracy sake I'll stick to plain black!!!! lol
