Does anyone live in Staffordshire or know it well?  My partner has an interview for a job in Stoke and, although of course he might not get the job, it would just be interesting to know a bit about the area as we've never been there.  Property prices certainly look lower than London but what is the countryside like?  Are there plenty of nice walks for dogs where there is no livestock?  We are a bit spoiled where we live now but sometimes I really fancy getting out of London.  Would be very grateful for any information positive or not!

Im in Staffordshire, its nice dog walking area but avoid Cannock Council like the plague, some of the outside edge of Stafford is nice.

I grew up in Newcastle just the other side of stoke and have to say I'd never want to actually live in Stoke itself but there are loads of lovely villages/towns around Stoke that have great views and lots of dog walking areas
