Can any Westie people out there advise as to what age a pup would be expected to be fully grown.
Thanks.

As a small terrier I would expect them to be more or less finished with growing at around 6 to 9 months, after that they will put on muscle but the bone growth is pretty much done.  If its a bitch then they don't usually grow much after their first season (small terriers ;) ) but again they will slowly gain muscle and therefore weigh more.  Of course there's always one or two that will not follow the normal pattern - just to be difficult :) and mentally they never seem to grow up fully :D :D :p

A westie should if from good examples of the breed should reach approx 11 inches fully grown. I have a few from slightly different lines and find it the age of maturity with regards size varies considerably. I guess like humans.

I have a 7 month old bitch who I am sure is her adult size now and has been for about 6 weeks but I  have have another who didn't get to his adult size till around one.  I would say They tend to reach their adult height 7-12 months and then slightly fill out a bit and still mature all over right up till sometimes 2 years of age.

Thanks for the info everyone, our westie boy is 9 months and after your replies I have just checked his hieght and he is spot on 11 in.
I was just worrying a bit as my vet had said he was puting on weight a bit too fast (15.5 lbs) but whilst out for walks he seemed smaller than other westies we met, a few people had said "ooooh isnt he dinky" . its a bit like children i suppose you always think yours are perfect then when someone makes a comment it plays at the back of your mind. I had the same with our Lab (and still do ) admitedly he is very tall and weighs 38Kg but doesnt carry an ounce of excess fat, people often ask what he is crossed with or "is he a Rhodesian Ridgeback" I dont think I am a snob about this sort of thing its just that i think my dogs are perfect just the way they are.
Cheers.

Sorry forgot to ask, What is the best way to stop the staining around the mouth, I have read somewhere that vitamin C helps also giving distilled water to drink.
Cheers.

there is loads and loads of diffrent ideas, from plastic bowls to water differences.

Some of mine seem to have it more than the others. I try to keep their chins dry.
