what do you think about dobes and tt's together

we had dobes for many years and are thinking of getting another
but we also have 1 tibetan terrier at present and i intend to get another in the very near future

whar do you all think about dobes living with tts

would we be taking a risk
dad doesnt think so
he said if the dobe pup is treated correctly from the beginning there will be no problems
they would all be living together in our house

They should be fine. A dobermann should be no different to any other breed of dog in that respect.

its not really about their temperment because all the dobes we have had were fantastic with children and other dogs
it is more about their size

I've not met many TTs but they've seemed sturdy dogs. I'd be more concerned if you had a fragile breed like Italian Greyhounds (lovely dogs, but seem to snap if you look at them too hard)!

They should definitely be fine.  As long as you teach dobe to play gently, there'll be no problems - if you don't, you end up with a dobe like mine, who merrily thumps small dogs with his front paws to try and make them play!!  He does this a lot to my sister's chihuahua, and poor little Monkey ain't happy about it.

Do make sure you teach him that when the little dogs have had enough, it means they've had enough - Remy will back off from an older dog he's annoying, but when Monkey growls or snaps (when he's really pissed) he doesn't take him seriously.  Of course, Remy is one of those dogs who will generally ignore what everyone wants unless it suits him otherwise :D or unless you have food!
