Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a couple of good quality rope leads with the 'snap' fastners, not the slip leads.

B & Q sell all ropes by any length and all types and colours. It's help yourself to what you want and all types of clips too, but of course you have to put them together yourself although for pence rather than pounds. I've done a couple for my Dobe. You can experiment by starting long in length of rope and then chop down as you want because the cost doesn't matter. Worth having a look first.

I buy mine from outhwaites ropemakers.  I like the pseudo Twist or twist Braid ones which are soft.  I can hold five or six of these in my hand.  they come in lots of colours so eachof my girls has a different colour which helps with untangling.

Out of interest, how are peeps putting clips etc on the rope leads? I may be getting one so I can use it as a reward during training/trials; my OH says he will splice the rope for me to give a handle and presumably for attaching the clip.

Lindsay I just a use a gundog slip lead, so no clip required, when I am at trials.......
