Hi We breed French Bulldogs, and although our lot don't have a problem I'd recommend you use , a vaseline/ petrolum jelly, every day to moistuise the skin- ( I even use  Vaseline Body lotion) to clean them use a little cotton wool soaked in Diamond Eye 9 availalbe from good pet shops on online at Hub International.)

Feeding is important:  give plenty of Fruit  vegtables, and fish oils, which will improve the skin condition,
I know many frenchie breeders don't recommend bathing too often but i would suggest that a good qaulity Aloe Vera based shampoo would improve the overall condition : Full Grooming instructions on the frenchie are available from french bulldogs UK ( http://www.frencbulldogs.org.uk)
