We have just been informed that our 4 week old Golden Retriever is a 'Swimmer'. Has anyone had experience of helping this condition and advice would be great.
We had this problem with one of our pups you need to tape the back legs together for about 2 days then take the tape of and determine if he can stand on his own if not re tape for 48 hours more pups usually get on their feet in about 3 or 4 days also put some carpet in the whelping box this may help. this is not an uncommon problem don't worry to much.

I was reading about this last night aparently its more common in Certain breeds Ive forgoten which ones though :P . I read about breeders putting the pups on the backs and a week or so later they could walk properly no idea how they kept them on there backs though .
Ive read that some breeders use a sling to help there pups walk , or put a rough surface for the pups to walk on .
Good luck with your pups :)
im sure the puppy will be fine, but you can roll little socks up and put them under the vet bedding, one person on here was told to have her baby pts but i urged her not to and now that puppy is her pick of litter and training for the ring!!
good luck
