Topic Dog Boards / General / How much does your pup weight
- By Sarah Gorb [gb] Date 18.07.05 11:06 UTC
Couldn't believe it when we put Breeze on the scales at the vet on Friday and she is already 15.7kg / 2 1/2 stone at 14 weeks.

How much do your pups weigh?
- By ShaynLola Date 18.07.05 11:10 UTC
What breed is Breeze?

My little Newf girlie is 16 weeks and about 21kg.
- By Sarah Gorb [gb] Date 18.07.05 11:12 UTC
She is a Rottie. Sounds like you are going to have a monster as well.
- By ShaynLola Date 18.07.05 11:18 UTC
Yep, sounds like it :) Breeder keeps telling me what a big girl she's going to be and that she'll definately be bigger than her Mum at this rate (and I thought her Mum was big for a girlie  )

Going to have to find an alternative way of getting her into the car as I'm still lifting her in at the minute. So either I find a new method fast/change the car (which we intend to do as soon as funds allow) or resign myself to having biceps like an Olympic weight-lifter :D
- By Sarah Gorb [gb] Date 18.07.05 11:23 UTC
I was thinking of a ramp to get into the car. She hates being picked up now, and give it a few more weeks, I won't be able to do it anyway.
I know what you mean about the breeder saying that she is going to be a big girl. When the litter was first born, the first thing our breeder said was that they were chunky. Dad was huge, but mum was average size for a Rottie.

Sarah, Bali is now 14 months and still won't get in to the car himself!  In his own time he will pop his front legs on to my lap (with loads of encouragement that is otherwise he is not bothered) and I then move his legs across and then stand up holding him there and lift his back end in!  I have also considered a ramp as I swear he is weighing more and more each time LOL!
- By Blues mum Date 18.07.05 17:23 UTC
Hi Sarah, blues 20kg and his 13weeks, i swear he grows by the day!
- By martyb3275 [gb] Date 18.07.05 18:15 UTC
At 6 months stella weighed 5 stone 12 lbs. We use a ramp to get her in and out the car.
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 09:28 UTC
Hi, my pup was last weighed at 17 weeks old and weighed 27kg!!! (over 4 stone!!!) He is now a few weeks older, so goodness knows what he weights now!! :D I take him in every month to get his weight checked. He is a BIG boy!!!! :D
- By Sarah Gorb [gb] Date 19.07.05 11:05 UTC
I bet he is. don't want that sitting on you everynight. What kind of dog is he. Its not a bad idea to weigh them every few weeks.
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 11:21 UTC
He is an english mastiff. My vet wants to keep an eye on his weight gain for the first year, because he will grow to about 90% of his full size (which will be between 17-20 stone!!!) So i take him in every month to get weighed. Not sure how long i will be able to lift him up onto the scales though!! LOL ;-)
- By Sarah Gorb [gb] Date 19.07.05 11:33 UTC
crikey, thats a lot of dog. would not want that to jump up at me. He will kill the suspension in your car when he's fully grown. Bet he is beautiful though.
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 11:40 UTC
We are looking for a new vehicle just now because he is already filling the boot of the car we have!!! Not sure what would be big enough for him fullsize though! :D

PS. He is VERY beautifull! ;-)
- By Sarah Gorb [gb] Date 19.07.05 11:42 UTC
A van or a bus may be good...LOL
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 11:50 UTC
We do have a van, but my OH uses it for work. We need something that is practical and has enough room for my 5 year old AND my pup!!
- By ShaynLola Date 19.07.05 11:45 UTC
Blimey, that's a big dog!!! I'm thinking a truck might be your only option vehicle-wise! :D

Do you have any pictures that you'd care to share?
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 11:48 UTC
If you PM me your e-mail adress i will send you some piccys! We were thinking of a pick-up truck! :D It is probably the only option.
- By ShaynLola Date 19.07.05 11:52 UTC
Have PM'd you. Cheers.

I don't think you'll have any problems with unwanted visitors at your house with a dog that size around!! :P
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 12:05 UTC
Got it, have just sent some pics. :D
- By ShaynLola Date 19.07.05 12:32 UTC
Thanx Mackleback!!

He is adorable! Wouldn't want him sitting in my lap, though!! :D
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 12:35 UTC
LOL he has just stood on my foot!!! And he is really heavy!!! He weighs a stone more than my son!!! :D :D
- By mackleback Date 19.07.05 12:40 UTC

I have just been to the Vet this morning to get my pup weighed, and he is 33.2kg!!!!! (5.23 stone!) He was 21 weeks old on sat!!! Luckily i bought a ramp for him yesterday! He is putting on about a stone a month, so at this rate i'm gonna need it!!! :D :D
- By Blues mum Date 25.07.05 08:48 UTC
Wow zoe! What a heffer! Blues now 23kgs at 14 weeks, he got weighed the other day! How is the chunky boy?? :D
- By mackleback Date 25.07.05 09:11 UTC
He is doing great! Slobber, slobber and more slobber!!!! :D Blue is gonna be a heavy boy too, the way he is going!!! :-) How much should he weigh when he is fully grown?? How is Blue anyway??? Slobbering everywhere too???? ;-)
- By Blues mum Date 25.07.05 09:35 UTC
Same here, little slobber chops! Especially after a little drink! :D When his fully grown he should be around 63 - 77 kgs What about your boy? should imagine his gonna be alot heavier than Blue boy :)
His doing really well, growing by the day! :D
- By mackleback Date 25.07.05 09:43 UTC
He should weigh about 17-20 stone!! (think thats about 108-127kg) :D Blue will probably be taller than Tyson though. Tyson will get to roughly, at least 30 inches at the shoulder. Still pretty big!!!! :D
- By Blues mum Date 25.07.05 09:58 UTC
Tysons gonna be gorgeous!! I cant wait to see how big Blue gets, his mum and dad were pretty dam huge and every dane owner ive met have said his gonna be a big boy, he needs to grow into his ears and feet :D
- By mackleback Date 25.07.05 10:00 UTC
Aaaawwww he is beautiful!! Tyson is always getting mistaken for a Dane, he is all legs at the moment!!! LOL :D :D :D
- By Blues mum Date 25.07.05 10:04 UTC
lol same here, lanky boys! Blues always getting mistaken for a Weimaraner! :( Im like "HIS A GREAT DANE!" lol
- By ShaynLola Date 25.07.05 12:09 UTC
Out Newfie girl was weighed at 22kg on Saturday so growing steadily. I'm a bit fed up of her being mistaken for a chocolate lab X (or similar) and an Irish Water Spaniel (but at least I can understand this one as she's roughly the same colour and always wet. Plus, I've been asked so many times if she'll go black when she's older

I ordered a ramp of ebay for £65. Holds 286lbs (130kg) so should be fine for my 2 monsters.
- By Sarah Gorb [gb] Date 25.07.05 09:00 UTC
wow, he is a big boy. Hope the ramp is a good one....  Does he still want to sit on you for cuddles?
Going on ebay today to look for a ramp as Breeze hates being picked up, and I don't want her to start jumping. Will take her back to the vet to weigh in a couple of weeks.
- By mackleback Date 25.07.05 09:15 UTC
I got my ramp from Pets At Home, it can take 300lbs, be used in water and its easily stored. It is a telescopic one and it cost £99.99. Not cheap...but needed!!!! ;-) Tyson is using it fine already (with a little coaxing). Although he wasnt sure the first time....thought he would try going down belly first!! :D

PS. Yes....he does still want to sit on me for cuddles! And big slobbery kisses!!!! :D :D
- By 1maximillion [gb] Date 25.07.05 10:05 UTC
