i have a 9 month old sharpei who is intent on destroying my house. she is a chewing machine whether we are home or not and does not care what she eats.

after desrtoying a brand new £1500 sofa im just about ready to give in reluctantly

please if anyone can suggest anything to stop her ive tried all the sprays going she got mountains of toys. im so heart broken at the thought of having to give her up but im worried that she will choke on something

Guest if you join (it's free :D) then there are many experienced people on here who can help you, it will be much easier once you realise you aren't alone in having a chewy puppy :)  Really to help more information is needed, what, when, where etc. and also what you've already tried ;)

In the meantime do a search on chewing and destroying on the forum, there are loads :D

you could try crating her wen your out,atleast then ude know theres nothing she could be getting up to wile your out. she could be teathing so you could try ringing out a wet teatowel and putting it in the freezer and wen frozen give to here to chew on. ive also heared on here some people use bonjella on there teathing pups. :) worth a try! some1 else will be along who might be able to help you more! :)

I really would restrict her space if not crate her then confine her when you are out to an area where she can't do much damage.
My girl destroyed everything until she was a couple of weeks after 12months just hang on in there!
( I unfortunately didn't use a crate and paid the consequences but i learned a lesson and didn't repeat it with my next dog).

If you dog has done that degree of damage to your sofa then I am afraid this is due to lack of supervision! Presumably you did not sit and watch your dog trash the sofa! It was done when you were not looking. The answer is to watch like a hawk. My dogs have only ever caused damage due to MY carelessness.....
Your dog must be supervised at all times when in the house.
Use baby gates to ensure that your dog can not sneak out of your sight to chew things
Dont leave stuff about
When you cannot directly supervise e.g. if in the bath, or cooking,  crate your dog or let it play outside.
When you are out, leave your dog in a dog proof zone or doutdoor run with plenty chew toys.
