You kindly answered my question regarding worms last week and I can report that my cavalier girl is pregnant. However I took her to the vet at the weekend as she was crying and scratching her ear. The vet said she had an infection and prescribed canaural ear drops. On taking her back for a check up this morning I saw another vet who told me she shouldn't be taking these drops as they have steriods in them and prescribed antibiotics instead. Both vets are aware of the pregnancy. Now I'm worried sick that harm might come to the pups. I probably administered about 12 drops in total. Can anyone reassure me?

hello,i cant reassure on wether the drops will have harmed,i'm sorry, i just thought i would tell u about ear problems with my dogs, one of them very bad, i saw two vets with her who both said different things, her infection came back the day after the anti bi's finished and my vet said this was fine,i didnt think so,i then discovered thornit powder which i used twice a day for five days and her ears where clean as a whistle. most ear infections in dogs are caused by a mite, the ear then produces wax etc in defence which then becomes a secondry infection, anti bi's clear the secondry infection not the actual mite, thornit powder goes straight to kill the mite, it can also be put onto the paws as the mite can live in there,so scratching can start it all off again.  I know this isnt the same as a pregnant bitch but it is a herbal remedy so no steriods etc and thought it may put your mind at rest using it, and it definatly worked for my dog so i would recommend it 100%, it is also very cheap. It is sold by champion pet supplies, who are also very helpful when you ring and askk some very thorough questions before shipping to make sure you have the right product for you.   sorry dont know how to post links   www.championpetsonline.com.  hope this is some help to you,and again i am sorry i cant reassure you, hope everything is okay xxx

Thank you for the advice about the powder, I will definately try to get some and hope no harm has been done with the drops. My vet says the drops only contain a minute amount of steroid and wouldn't have given them to me if harmful but my gut reaction says otherwise.
