I have been trying for months to find a Tibetan Spaniel puppy, not necessarily high show standard, but one that is ty[ocal of the breed, with no glaring faults, and good outgoing temperament, from eye-tested parents, to date drawing a blank. I live in Shropshire. but travelling to see a litter would not be too much of a problem. Can anybody help me please?

If you go on the Kennel Club website
here
http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/

and click on Breed Standards, you will find Tibetan Spaniels in the utility section, at the bottom of the page is a list of Tibetan Spaniel Clubs in Britain :)

I would be very careful if buying a puppy from www.epupz.co.uk. Check out the breeder, parents etc. carefully before buying.

You're right about that, and I would go so far as to say that being careful and checking out parents and registrations, everything really, is equally important whoever you buy from.

Out of curiosity I checked out www.epupz and looking at various breeds advertised there I did see several less than responsible breeders who I know do not have a good reputation with in their own breed clubs and societies. Having said that Epupz does ask buyers to report to them anything they think is not as it should be. They state they will then check this out with independant people from the breed in question. I asked them if they could tell me who would be checking on my breed and they have never replied! I asked not as a breeder but as a "potential" puppy buyer. If they cannot explain this to a puppy buyer, then I would be very wary.
They did have some advertisers saying that their pups were KC registered and they themselves were members of the Kennel Club, as a proof of how good their pups were. I know for a fact these people are not KC Members. I did point this out to Epupz, and I did notice that this part of the advert is no longer on the web site.

And the breed club can help here as they can tell you if the breeder is known in the breed circles, and often they will know of any bad breeders to steer clear of too.  they will aslo be able to advise what to look for when checking out a breeder, what is consdiered best practice re health tests etc, and the kind of standards considered the norm in rearing, age of sellign pups, breedign from parents etc.
