Topic Dog Boards / General / Grass is dying!
- By bsdmr2 [in] Date 17.07.05 20:27 UTC
Hi Everyone,

Just after a bit of advice.

My grass is slowly dying due to my EBTs weeing on it!

Is there anything you can buy to save your grass?

Any info would greatly be received!!
Cheers

Nearly all grass will be going yellow at the moment due to the lack of rain, but the dogs pee will also help it along to becoming even worse

You can buy some tablets & spray from M&C or you can water the places they pee as soon as they do it

It is the Nitrogen in the dogs pee that acts as a too strong fertilizer which causes the surface grass to die, it will fill in eventually as long as the dogs don't keep peeing in the same place

My garden is split into two a tarmac area for peeing etc 24/7 & the lawn for when they've been ;) doesn't mean the lawn doesn't get peed on but it does reduce the number of times

Leave it alone! Having had dogs and bitches weeing on my grass for over 20 years I can assure you that in 6 months time you won't know where they've weed.

I have the same problem, theres hardly any green bits left.  I have read somewhere that tomato juice is good either on the lawn or on your dogs food.  Have'nt tried though. :-p

Get some low lying flowers that are good for ground coverage (you can tell I'm not the gardener in our household, can't you! :D ) as, much to OH's horror, Roxy rather wee on them than the grass!
