Hi, just come back from my 2nd companion show ever. My girl got 1st in minor puppy, 1st in puppy , 2nd in non sporting dog and best puppy in show, so with last weeks results and this weeks i am well chuffed. Things will change next month when she start her open shows,lol.

Brilliant news - well one. I am one of the staunch supporters of companion shows especially if you want to show more seriously. You can watch and learn from some very good handlers and gain experience yourself. Sounds like your pup must have enjoyed herself as well as being a good dog as she did so well.

I have been doing the odd companion show my self ready for my first show in August there great for a good day out and a real chance to show what youv'e learned.good luck for the future.

Thanks all for you replies. The only thing that spoilt the day was a man, who is a judge but not at this show saying to me that a companion show is for people who just want to show there pets and not people who want to do it seriouly(at open shows)and also its just for breeders so they can see how there pups will do. Also he said he didnot like peoples dogs that done well and didnot want them at the show. Grumpy old sod. I was told to start at these kind of shows so that me and my dog got some experiance of showing.

That was excatly what I was told just use them to get experience.Sounds like a bit of the green eyed monster creeping in!!!
