I am looking for some help in verifying the Pedigree of West Highland Terriers, Biscon Frise, Boxer, & german Shepherd.
I am part of a group from the North West who trying to take action against local Pet Stores who are selling puppies with illness and Pedigrees. I have had assistance regarding my own puppy a Cocker Spaniel form the 'Cocker Spaniel Club' but they can not help regarding the other breeds. I an trying to assertain if the Pedigree history is authentic and that the dogs mentioned were registered to the parents. So far it would appear that the link breaks down with the puppies Dam who suddenly appears but is not reg ant where agaist her parents.
If you feel you can help please contact

Have you tried teh kennel club? They should be able to help, they hold all of the pedigree registrations and if nothing else will be able to put you in contact with the breed clubs.

Are you sure these pups are Kennel club registered.  There are organisations that will issue documents with anything the breeder cares to put as the pedigree details as they do not run a databse of breeds.

The kennel club system relies on the parents beign registered then teh owner of the bitch has to have confirmation of mating on the application from from the owner of the sire.  This way the records can be verified asuming that both breeder and sire owner are honest about the actual parents being those they state.  There is not a lot of point generally in lying about it, but if there is any doubt DNA checks can be made on teh parents and pups inc ase of dispute.

These pups aren't KC registered Brainless - they're registered with the other company beginning with D ;-) I've checked Smithyca's Cocker pedigree from this registry & most of it appears to be accurate based on KC records but there is a discrepancy with one name. I think Smithyca would like anyone who has the BRS for the Working Group/Terrier Group to have a look at the pedigrees he has & see whether the pedigrees are accurate to some or any degree or completely fabricated. Hope some of you out there can help :-)

Brainless, The pups are not KC registered, the Dam has no KC registration but a Bitch of a similar name is. The Dam of our pup is claiming the same parentage as the Bitch of a similar name but KC have no details for her.
As Jane says in her reply I am now trying to verify the actual details of other peoples 'Pedigree Certificates' for the breeds mentioned. They are in a similar circumstance to myself, and their certificates seem to follow the same pattern, these anomolies are to regular across certain breeders and the DLRC to be coincidence.

Thanks for your interest
