Hello all,
This question is to all of you with working cockers.
My new girlie Tizzy stands up a lot on her back legs and sort of 'waltzes' around a lot. Is this common with working cockers? She doesn't jump up at me, just sort of dances around, (when she's not trying to get under my feet!).
I have to say that although my heart still belongs to my wonderful working labs, a little piece of me is forever going to belong to the WC.
My labs are pretty high drive working dogs, but she puts them in the shade! Bless. Always on the go and always delighted to see everyone! And all this from a pup who was at deaths door only 3 weeks ago, they really are little toughies!

have to say not experienced the dancing - mine attention seek by rolling on their backs and waving their legs in the air - floor dancing!!
One of my Spanish is a floor dancer too :d She looks really comical at the moment being nearly 9 weeks pregnant, with her little legs in the air and her belly sticking up nearly as high :d
Not all of them, just some!
I am a Lab person myself but a very good friend has WC and I will have one one day ;)
Said friend lives in Texas and uses cockers because they are so determined to get to a retrieve that even their big cactus wont stop them. Sadly they are so game that they done even stop when bitten by a rattler and she is now having second thoughts about them having lost 2 that way in the last year :( Truly wonderful spirited dogs.
Hi mentalcat
This doesn't surprise me. My boy used to do that when he was a puppy!!! I also have a video made by Edward Martin who says that you can always spot the "cocker people" on a shoot as their jackets are all muddy pawprints. I think it's an inbuilt thing with them!!! Now, don't get me on about WCs. My heart definitely lies with the breed. They are so full of life - a big dog in a little body.
Kind wishes
Annie
