Thats just it though Natalie. They can't be dog lovers, or they would never ever do it. they are just sick :(

They are usually either people with bigger breeds who don't want to have all their dogs with them on the benching, or I think more often they are people with unentered dogs who don't want to leave them at home. I did once take an unentered dog, and she was fine in the unentered dogs tent, so I don't know why people can't just leave them there. If they can't afford the entry fee or even the unentered dog tent fee, surely it is better to leave them at home, even if they mess on the floor or get a bit lonely, than to bring along and leave them in a car??? :-(

Yvonne.....why are you confused?
Lucy D.....I have myself taken unentered dogs & left them in the landrover whilst I show...although obviously never in this heat! Plus sometimes if i am showing AND working at a show then they have the back door wide open, the side windows slid open, plus the reflective roof and the fact its aluminium to keep it amazingly cool. but once again...not in the sort of heat we have had this week. In fact I wouldnt even show mine in this heat as it would really affect them. regarding the unentered tent...yes maybe its fine for the "average dog" but for those of us with somewhat specialised breeds weighing around ten stone & not being experienced at sitting nicely on benches etc, then no I would never leave one in such a tent with someone I didnt know & had no experience of how to handle my breed.

But same if your dogs are used to a cage you can put them in there..we always use a cage because it is safer then a bench!

>They can't be dog lovers

I will not ask why they own dog/s in the first place, because we all know there are plenty of people own dog's who are not dog lovers, but if they don't love their dogs why are they showing them?

BTW, I do agree with your statement, how can anyone who will lock their dogs in their own cars/ovens call themself a dog lover? What I don't understand is why they then will spend hours grooming them, spend (sometimes) hours on the road getting to a show, pay to get in the show, and then leave the dogs in a car? It just doesn't make sence.
