I would like some advice as she is on her 52nd day she is still eating but she is panting alot and sometimes she groans, plus she is very restless could you tell me is this to do with the first stage of whelping or not i would apprechate some advice
i am a novice to all this pregnant lark?

Have you been prefnant yourself? :D At 7 1/2 months pregnant in the heat of summer I tell you I sure was groaning and uncomfortable :D
Me too brainless, hid behind closed curtains with the fan blowing all day.......August 1995, really hot summer.
Poor girl will pant in the warmer weather, the weight is dragging her down too, I always make sure my girls only eat small meals but often, that can make them feel uncomfortable too. Just try and keep her as cool as possible, if she's fine otherwise, then it's just the stresses and strains of pregnancy.
I hope it's not the first stages of labour because the pups are far too immature to survive yet, if you are worried pop her along to your vet for reassurance.
Good luck
yes i have been pregnant 3 times but they were in the winter time, she seems to have settled down now she has stopped her panting and groaning i agree with you it must be all the extra weight she is carrying about with her, she is sleeping now.
I would be very worried if it was. Here it's been very hot recently so hopefully this is what's wrong with your girl. If you are worried take her to the vet as it's really too early for her to have them now.
she has calmed down a lot since the weather has got cooler she is eating and drinking still (she didn't go off her food,) i will see how she goes but i think now it was to do with the weather being so hot. so thank you for your responses i do apprecate it (sorry about the spelling).
kara is on her 57th day and all is well with her, so we are just waiting for the day when she has her puppies now we are all very excited about it all.
good luck! having the pitter patter of tiny paws is always a joyous occaision! :-)
Oh good luck to your girl, mines due in 10 days :d

Good luck Brainless, Dianne et all!! Me sitting here drumming fingers waiting on Emma just to come into season. Normally six months to the day, this time, when I wish to mate her, she is holding back on me, 3 weeks late and the clock is ticking :) Its deliberate, I'm sure it is, she has such a wicked sense of humour ;)
thank you bulldog bash and spainsh water she has only got 5 days to go so we are looking forward to the day of the arrivel of the puppies.will let you know when she has them

kayc, Lana came in 5 months late, had imported a dog from Spain for her and she only came into sesaon in May :d She only had one spot of blood as well, when usually she floods for 3 weeks and I wasn't sure whether she really was pregnant but I definitely am now :d She's making craters in the garden and hasn't ate much of her food today so I think she'll have them about Wednesday, can't see her going until a week tomorrow.

Jozi is in first stage labour, it is 4 days to due date.
Jozi being Jozi refuses to stay in the whelping box upstairs, and is by
turns digging in the crate in the kitchen and standing around looking lost.
She did that most of last night in the bedroom too, instead of going in the
whelping box.
Have borrowed a fan which I have on a chair next to it, but she is not
impressed.
Looks like I will have to watch until her waters break and then force her
upstairs. Have had to shut the kennels as she wants to go in there.

Oh good luck Barbara, dont forget to keep us well informed, (when you get the time) :D

Well she is curled up in a most uncomfortable looking position in the basket (still refusing to go in whelping box upstairs for more than a minute) and getting some shut eye, as it has finally cooled down a bit. So nothing much yet to report, she hasn't eaten anything except two mulk bones, not like her at all, so something is astirring.

First pup born 2.25am, bouncing boy of a pound in weight.

Going to be a slow night second pup born 4.15am 15oz girls.

Congrats on the babes so far

Well I boy and 3 girls so far, 3rd girls born 10 minutes ago. Reckon by the looks of her another two maybe :D
congrulations brainless on your arrivals of your new pups, kara is due today and she is in her first stage but nothing to report at the moment but when she does i will let you all know.

Please do it is quite exciting sharing.
We now have two boys and 3 girls, and maybe some more still to come.
i am very pleased for you brainless i am getting very excited about kara having her pups. Are you going to keep one of the pups, cos we are going to keep one of kara's pups, my grandson will be a bit dissappointed when he comes over tonight espically if she hasn't had them by then. kara wants to go in our shed so we have to keep the doors shut. i am keeping my eye on her as well.

Excellent news! Three girls - will you be keeping one? Go on, you know you want to! ;) :D

Just come on and seen your news - congrats Barbara :) Bit of a bruiser that 7th one

my 7th one was like that and thought OMG but at least she's finished - then a skinny little boy popped out :D :D :D
Best wishes to them all and mum of course too. Luv Teri x

Nice sized litter not too many & not too few LOL now the work really begins Barbara !

I had the skinnier little boy as number 6 (11oz), the rest were really even for weights between 14 1/2 oz and a pound.
