1. When your bird barks when you come in the door. (One members parrot started imitating the dogs)
2. When the dog invites herself to join you whenever you leave in the car or walk out the door.
3. When the dog insists on joining you in the bathroom!
4. When your dog has a place set for them at the dinner table.
5. When your sitting on the floor and the dogs on the sofa
6. When the cost of your pet's food & supplies are starting to equal your grocery bill.
7. When you do more loads of doggie laundry than your own.
8. When YOU have to squeeze into the bed and the dog moans when you bump him with your leg.
9. When the dog squeezes in-between you and your husband when you're trying to cuddle.
10. When you choose carpet and flooring to harmonize with muddy pawprints.
11. When you choose tile over carpeting for easier poo mistake cleanups.
12. When you get on your hands/knees to look under the bed for your shoes/socks.
13. When you greet your dog first before your spouse and children when you get home from work.
14. When you get a bigger greeting from the dog than from the family.
15. When you remove all curtains and drapes in favor of paw and nose stencils for window decor.
16. When your bathroom reading material consists of The Whole Dog Journal, dog supply catalogs and The Comprehensive Guide to Owning and Caring for your dog.
17. When you go auto shopping you have to make sure the crate fits in the backseat!!
18. When your dogs have more toys than your children.
19. Your children are grown, yet you still have baby gates all over.
20. When you make your grocery-shopping list and the first thing that gets written is "dog treats."
21. When you try not to ever use your front door because it is easier for the dog to get out that way. Carport door becomes door of choice.
22. When returning from the groceries store ... you forgot the milk, but not the dog treats and dog toys. :-)
23. When every step you take ends in a squeak (dog toys) or an "Ouch!" (dog bones).
24. When you ask your neighbor if you can borrow their baby pool rather than a cup of sugar.
25. When you call your spouse "Mommy" or "Daddy" around the dog and you have no human kids.
26. You put your hand in your jacket pocket and there's dog treats inside
27. Your "sun room" which used to be cute and a nice breakfast nook is now the dog's room and full of toys and creates!
28. When you get home from work and kiss your dog's hello first!
29. When you start comparing house training stories with the neighbors at a cocktail party.
30. When every upholstered chair and couch is covered with an extra blanket or sheet to keep off the dog hair -- and you tell your guests, "Don't sit there. That's the dog's chair..."
31. When you reach into your blazer pockets for a pencil or pen during a meeting -- and pull out plastic poop bags....
32. When you greet the dogs by name, but forget the peoples' name.
33. When you find yourself signing your dogs name(s) on greeting cards you send out.
34. When you tell your family "leave it" when they are doing something wrong.
35. You and your spouse send each other Mommy/Daddy cards for Xmas, birthdays, Mother's/Father's Day from the pets.
36. You mull over pet friendly birthday cake recipes for your dog's birthday, and invite the neighbor's dogs over for the party complete with hats and balloons!
37. When you spend half the day on the Internet looking for your pet's birthday gift.
38. When you spend at least an hour a day on the Cairn talk forum chatting about your pup
