If you are in the UK APBTs are banned altogether.

You cannot legally own a pit bull in this country .There are no licences anymore for them and no way of making the legal.

People are breeding Pit Bulls or Pit Bull types and making out that they are a breed that is known in Europe as the APBT.  Unfortunately people who don't know about this and look at the fantastic websites on this "breed" in the UK won't know any better.

I've met the real thing in Spain on numerous occassions and the actual breed is lovely!

The show version that is registered with the American Kennel club is tha American Staffordshire Terrier, or Amstaff.

Amstaffs can be dual registered with registration orgai9nisations that recognise the American Pitbull Terrier (APBT) as a breed.

The Amercian Pitbull Terrier, or just plain Pitbull, or any dog of the Type known as the Putbull Terrier (basically any large bullbreed or staffie cross, and of corse the Am Staff) is ilegal in the UK since the 1990 Dangerous dogs Act.

We have a 'neighbour' who breeds them (or something that looks VERY similar!). I have to say that his bitch is a nice enough dog. Sadly the people he sells them to are not, one who provided the stud for one of the litters, took the entire litter at 4 weeks old at gunpoint, infront of his children :0
