Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Reintroducing Molly to pups

Good friends of mine that live around the corner had two of Molly's pups.  They are nearly 9 weeks old now and have had their first vaccinations.  We kept a pup too, Max, and Molly has bonded really well with him.  Can you please advise me, Molly's milk is now all but dried up, will it be ok to take her round to my friends socially, will it upset her to see the pups and leave them behind when we come home, do I need to leave it another few weeks?

Hi, sorry to nag, but has anyone any ideas on this subject?  Your help would be much appreciated.

I personally would wait a little bit longer maybe until they are 12 weeks,  LOL one of my beardies used to top & tail her puppies everytime she saw them right up until the day she died at 12 1/2

Thanks, coincidentally, Molly is a beardie cross!  I'll wait a while longer then - so you think she will recogonise them then after the seperation?

We had one of Tiggers pups go and then return after a week and she just kept him clean but when he tried to feed she let him know she was not impressed.

Purdy met up with one of her daughters after 4 weeks and they met but were no more friendly than if they had been introduced as any other puppy.  Got to be honest though my lot are quite happy for puppies to come and come and they tend to have comune style relationship with each others puppies.

OK, thanks, will let you know how we get on in a couple of weeks or so.
