ICE stands for In Case of Emergency. It's an idea to have a contact number under stored on your mobile for the emergency services etc... and is catching on. In view of what's just happened in London I think it's a great idea!

That is a really good idea, I will pass the news on to everyone I know :D

Sorry to tell you this but ICE has already been used in the automobile industry. It stands for In Car Entertainment.

Bazza :D I dare say if I googled ICE I'd come up with a thousand things it stands for.
You don't have to participate by entering a next of kin contact into your mobile phone if you already have a direct number for Sony stored.
There is also a system for if you are found at home and are unable to communicate with the emergency services, you put a sticker on the back of your front door and a film type canister in the fridge with any medical and next of kin details on it (the fridge apparently survives even in a fire). A great system if you have a medical condition, allergy or live alone.
