Has anyone heard of Tetralogy of Fallot heart defect? My 17 weeks old puppy has been diagnosed with this condition and we've been offered surgery as treatment. However, the insurance won't cover it as it is a pre-existing condition (present at birth although only noticed at 10 weeks). The cost of surgery is very high and i would like to know if anyone has had a dog treated with a "shunt" for this condition. How successful was the operation and what quality of life does the dog have afterwards?
