We have a 16 week old weimaraner and she is absolutely delightful. Of course she gets into mischief but her love and playfulness is more than compensation. She has the run of the garden by day and shelter through side access to the garage (we leave the radio on). Here it comes......................she hates not being with us. On leaving for work she cries for up to 1/2 hr and this is wearing thin with the neighbours. She is exercised 3 times daily. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Weimaraners are very much people dogs and do not do well without human company.
How long are you leaving her for?
Hopefully your garden is secure when you leave her there as many dogs are stolen from gardens.
I have my dogs myself but I had a problem with a neighbour's dog that was being left and barking the place down, especially when I was working shifts and trying to sleep! A mention of the EHO and that problem was quickly resolved.
Weimaraners need a great deal of mental stimulation and training if they are not to grow up into hooligans.
Have you tried any of the following:
DAP diffuser in the house
Stuffed kongs
Wrapping up toys in layers of paper and in cardboard boxes
Buster Cubes
Dog Walker
Dog Creche
etc etc
What about getting her a companion in order that they keep each other company say another weimaraner.. we initially had one who used to scream the house down when we were out. About 6 months later we decided to get another and since that time we have not experienced any screaming. However, if that seems all to much what about asking a neighbour to take the dog for a walk or perhaps contact your local vets for a dog walking co.. or a day kennels.

Unfortunately getting another one before the first is at least 18 months old is usually, not always, a recipe for disaster.
It also does not teach the dog to be "alone" as it never is.
It may also prove a problem if both die at the same time in the future, for the owner that is.
There are several Weims in rescue or who have been rehomed and have terrible problems because the owners have never conducted any alone training at all and so the dogs do not mature into competent or confident adults..........
Also remember that attitudes are contagious, any poor behaviour/bad habits that the first has may infect the second one, so you have two incompetent dogs, neither of which can be left alone..........
