I am beginning to get a complex with this class, i have two lurchers (1 male, 1 female) and my ambition was/is to win handsome dog with my male lurcher.  Unfortunately i am always being told that he is far too pretty to win handsome dog, and now at the last couple of shows the judges have said that my female lurcher is more handsome then pretty (new ambition win prettiest bitch).  Do you think anyone would notice if i covered up my boy's bit (his bobs have already been removed) and stuck a banana (small) on my girl that we could possibly get nearer to achieving my goal!!!  Did get a 3rd once with Mr G (okay only 3 in class) but at least i got in the line up.

I notice alot of dogs like gsd, rotties, and things like that win handsome dog. My ollie whos black n tan rott x collie has a few but he stands like a snob. As for prettiest bitch they tend to go for furry fluffy little girly dogs and non of my girlys fit that.

I dont think they go for the furry furry fluffy dogs I've got beardies and go in for  fun but they never win I think they go for the one that probably wouldnt win if it was a serious competition!

My cross breed bitch has been in many "prettiest bitch" classes and come away with lots of rosettes and a few 1st places. She's not particularly feminine looking.
We once got 1st place in a class entitled: "Prettiest Bitch - Dog and Owner" :D :D :D I was very chuffed :D

My american bitch has won a few Prettiest Bitch classes when she was a puppy none recentally. they seem to go for puppys i think.

I've tried Handsomest Dog with my Cavalier but he's much too pretty - very masculine if compared to a bitch, but not compared to a GSD or Rottie!!! He did win Best Long Coat though!
