We recently took in a setter labrador cross but found out today from the labrador rescue group that our lab cross is in fact a Vizsla. As we know nothing about Vizsla's we have searched the web for pictures and have indeed found our dog staring back at us. However our dog has dark brown eyes and nose. He is 20 months old is it possible for him to have darker eyes and nose than I have been seeing on the pictures?

Hi, we have two vizzies, one boy, one girl. The boy Oliver is almost 3 and both he and his brothers eyes have been getting darker yellow over the past few months. We met their mum at the weekend and she too has darker eyes, whereas our younger girl has much lighter ones so it seems to be a trait that we at least have seen. Other classic characteristics include being hyper, full of energy and having the ability to wangle almost anything out of any
guest who may visit the house - biscuits, treats and cups of tea !. Hope you have fun with your new vizsla. There are several owners on the site, who are a wealth of knowledge. Have fun.
Hi Guest :) We have 3 Hungarians loonies here, 2 smooth girlies and my little boy who is a wire! I would love to see a piccie of your rescue, if you don't mind sending me one that is?! veganvizsla@yahoo.co.uk is my email addy.
Vizslak are meant to have eyes a shade darker than their coat, they darken as the dog matures, when opened they are bluish and my wire, who is 7 months has light amber coloured eyes which will, eventually, end up dark brown. Our 3 year old bitch also had light coloured eyes but these are gradually darkening and our almost 7 year old has beautiful brown eyes, it gives her the expression they are meant to have....light eyes make them look a bit 'evil' :D :D Noses should only be brown, not black or pinkish in any way.
Hope this helps....why don't you join, its free :)
