This is probably a daft question but my pup Toby is due to have his 12wk jab tomorrow (also being microchipped), and I was wondering how soon after having the jab will I be able to take him out? Do I have to leave it a few days? Or will he be safe to hit the streets pretty much straight away? He's just soooooo full of beans and spends lots of time sat at the back gate watching the world go by, I'm sure he can't wait to get out there and have a little explore!

My pup had his today and the vet told me he can go out in a weeks time :)

Just to contradict. Sorry ;) My vet says its ok for them to go out as soon as they have had the last inoculation

Ask your vet. He'll know the level of risk in your particular area.

I agree with Jan, follow what your vet recommends.
I had to wait 2 weeks after his injections before he went for his first walk due to the large number of dogs around here.
Bet you can't wait for the first walk :)

my pup had his jabs at 8 & 10wks, and was allowed out 10 days after the 10wk jab, which was last sunday.

My pup had his last 1 last Wednesday my vet said 7-10 days. So I guess hes fine to go out now. That will be fun

It depends entirely where  you live, and the level of risk.   Personally, I think that it is far more important to socialise them (even from a pup's eye view on the ground), and this outweighs the risk of infection - in our particular area.

The vets obviously have to cover themselves, and cannot recommend this to anyone.

If I were to live in an urban enviroment, I would have to abide by the rules and carry pup everywhere until 10 days or so after last jab -
