hi i would like to know from what age can a male Lhasa apso mate. thank you lynda

male dogs tend to be fertile from a much earlier age than females. It has been known for male pups as young as 5 months to sire litters! The usual age to start using a male dog at stud though is from around 1 year onwards, in larger breeds sometimes later as they take longer to mature. Hope that answers your query :-)

Also most health testing is done over a year of age so this would normally mean a dog would not be used until these had been done and the results received (Hip score results can take up to 6 weeks to come back).
