Hi there its my first experience with a bitches seasons and i'd like to know what to look out for, my tess who is a border terrier is nearly 7 mths so is due anytime soon.  I take her training so i dont want to take her when she is in season by mistake as i know sometimes its not obvious.  Could some of you lady and gents give me your experience on this.  Also can you tell me what sort of personality change to expect as she has already started pulling on the lead and general hunting instinct is kicking into overdrive.  Is that a sign?

Love the pic - thx.  A trainer gave me a sound bit of advice when we got a bitch many years ago.  Her little lady's bit will look like a bud when she is not in season but will blossom when she becomes due - so just keep your eyes open.

Yes her back end will swell and you will see blood spots also you may notice a change in temperament, mood swings sulking etc,our bitch is also due anytime it will be her first season too, bitches can come into season anytime from 6 months so keep your eye on her also make sure your garden is dog proof,no other dogs can get in and yours can't get out.
