Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Camping for Paignton
- By ClaireyS Date 06.07.05 12:36 UTC
Can anyone recommend a good campsite near Paignton Dog show ?  It doesnt have to be in Paignton, any of the areas around would be good.  It needs to be somewhere that takes tents and dogs (believe it or not some places dont allow tents or dogs in high season  ) prefereably within walking distance of a pub ( ;) ) and ideally near a dog friendly beach - ok im really pushing it now!!

Ive found one in Dawlish which looks ok but thats the only one, does anyone know of any more ?

Thanks

Claire :)

Hi Claire,

It's some years since I've been as my breed lost CCs at Paignton but we took our camper to a lovely (small) site called "Kenford" - within easy reach of wonderful cool woodland walks for the dogs and near to Dawlish too as we went there for the beach etc.  (but dogs weren't allowed on most of it :( )  The Kenford park did have a few reserved spaces for tents back then although most were caravan or camper pitches.  Lovely and clean, family run and friendly.  Might be worth a try.

Good luck, Teri :)

i live in Exmouth which is about 15 mins drive from crealy park where the show is held, st johns camping and caravan park is very good, and as far as i know allows dogs too:
St Johns Road
Exmouth
Devon
EX5 1EA
01395 232276

or
Webbers Farm Caravan & Camping Park
Castle Lane
Woodbury
Exmouth
Devon
EX5 1EA
01395 232276

they are both within 15 mins of exmouth, and near to woodbury common, which is where i walk all of my dogs, never meet anyone which is ideal!

hope it helps!

Thanks for all of your replies, I have managed to book a site in Dawlish, it has an adults only area and is within a 5 minute walk of a pub - ideal :p
