Please could anyone give me some advice please ......
my friend who has moved back in with her father who has an 11 year old springer sp. has been advised to have the dog injected with "tardak" as it is very aggressive & has badly bitten her 3 times now (her father is 86 & he is in hospitol at the moment) apparently it has allways been agressive, but now it is getting beyond a joke !!!! personaly i would have had it put down as it also has chronic cloitis which doesnt heal with vets treatment, this coupled with the aggression would i think have been the best thing in the situation.
The vet has refused to put the dog to sleep and has recomened Tardak, the thing i find puzzling is that this dog has been castrated since it was 2 !!!!!!
what could this drug do in this situation ???
what would you do in this situation ??
Is having the dog peacefully put to sleep the only answer given the circumstances ???
Pleas , please can anyone offer some advice on this as i am getting very worried about my friend how many times does she have to get bitten ?? they are very bad bites when he does bite.

I would have the dog put to sleep, can't see what Tardak will do if the dog has been neutered, maybe seek another opinion from a different vet or a behaviourist.

I agree with Dawn. If castration hasn't worked then I think it is very unlikely that Tardak will, but then again I am not a vet and maybe they know something we do not. I would change the vet. Personally, if the dog has seriously bitten three times, then it would have a one way ticket.

I dont think tardac will work, when as you say he has been castrated, we had a springer bitch at work that bit her owners very often in the end the husband had enough and the dog came into the kennels and was put to sleep, very sad as she wasnt always bad but when she was boy did she go!!!
