Hi there my tess is now 6 mths and has passed her good citizens bronze and i would like to get her into a ringcraft class in my area. I live in rugeley staffordshire and am comfortable driving to lichfield burntwood cannock areas so if any of you guys know of a good class could you let me know times numbers and prices(if you know lol). Also to have other border terriers there would be a fantastic bonus but i know probably wont be any.
Also there are two links to photo's of my tess below.

My prob is i have to stay close or my hubby will have a panic attack as i'm a pretty new driver. I've asked this before several months ago as i was going to get her into it then however i decided to let her get her good citizens bronze sorted first and have forgotten where i posted the info. (Being a bit blond lol)
Anyway how are you Dawn havent spoken in quite sometime now, how are all your borders still out and about rabbit hunting i guess? My Tess has just discovered her hunting instinct i'm having such a job controling her as she can smell rabbits everywhere at our training field and usual walks. She spends most the walk darting too and fro with her snout firmly inbedding in the grass lol.
No i havent forgotten to get in touch, shes still not ready to be stripped yet i dont think as she hasnt yet got to that scuffy stage lol but she is not far off. What do you think of her anyway, i dont know how to judge her bad points as i only see her good but she is coming along great. I saw her breeder at a companion show on the 19th june and he says shes lovely and perfect example but to be honest not sure whether he'd tell me if she wasnt. I took her to a companion show the other day and i was very disturbed to see my first miniture border terrier.
Tess now stands from head to foot at about 14-15 inches and she is nearly 7 mths.
I was sitting waiting for my class and i noticed another border i'm not kidding you it looked like a 12 week old puppy, no hair just legs and cute expressions but was more than half the size of my tess so i shouted her over and said the usual cant believe my tess was that big so on...anyway i asked how old she was and i was astounded to find out she was six months, now this really disturbed me as they obviously thought this was right. I didnt say anything because i didnt know what to say but we got to talking about stripping and she asked me how often i strip tess i said i havent yet shes no where near ready and correct me if i'm wrong here but she said i strip cassie everyday otherwise her hair gets very thick and she doesnt look nice to show.
I was speechless, i'm afraid i didnt know what to say so i made my excuses and left. What do you think about that dawn, i may be wrong but this pup was tiny and surely stripping it everyday would hurt it?

Thats a bit excessive Ann, every day, but some people do pick at a coat. How much does Tess weigh? she looks lovely in the pics, but also looks as if a strip might be in order, she seems to have long hair here and there. If you can get her over to me I will show how to do it. If you do want to show her, you need to get her to ringcraft, she NEEDS to learn how to behave, otherwise it will be pointless, companion shows are also a good idea, try to get to Terrier shows too.

I will pm you Ann when I have a day free and see if we can come up with something, I'll show you what I use, then you can get what suits you.
Dawn.
I understand there are ringcraft classes run in Lichfield which are run by some of the committee of Lichfield DS (I think) if that helps. Landywood moved sometime ago I believe to Long Lane Essington and there is also Wolverhampton Ringcraft Club which is in Essington but that may be a little too far for you.

Lichfield closes next Mondat till ealry September.
Ive been told the Essington (Landywood) one the pub has been sold and it will be closing down,I dont know how true that is though.

Hi there :)
I go to a ringcraft held in Shenstone village hall, in Shenstone, Nr Lichfield. It is very good, its run by a dog training club that are excellent. On of the ladies that run it, her daughter has a border terrier that is lovely. We are all very friendly and so are the dogs. It is held on a Tuesday at 8:00pm till 9:30pm and it is £2.50 a dog. You can have a look at the training club by clicking here...
http://www.southstaffsdt.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.html I know it says that the ringcraft is on on a Thursday but that is the old one. :) If you would like more info you can PM me. Hope this helps. :)
