Has any one experience of rearing prem pus? I have 2 westie pups ( lost 1 ) they are feeding and seem quite settled but are not gaining weight as extected. They are a week old tomorrow.
Hope someone can help

Welcome to the forum Guest.
I have a feeling that you may be asked more questions on these puppies,to allow people to offer you appropriate advice. For example, how premature were they?
The visitors question forum was only set up for guests to ask an initial question, so you will need to register to be able to respond :-) Good luck with your pups.

Hi guest, I am sure other posters will have very different views from me, but I never weigh my pups other than when they are first born (out of interest) I use my eyes to judge the pups condition wether they are prem pups or not. Like new born human babies, pups can loose a bit of body weight for a couple of days after birth, and I would worry myself sick!!! If they are feeding well, sleeping well, twitching in their sleep, look plumpish and dont cry and wriggle about I would be quite happy with them.
