(YES BEFORE YOUALL SHOOT ME DOWN- ALL RELEVENT HEALTH TEST HAVE BEEN DONE AND PEDIGREE'S TIE VERY WELL)
WE ARE EXPERIENCED IN BREEDING AND HAVE HELPED HIM ONHER AND TOGET THE RIGHT PLACE BUT HE REALLY DOESNT WANT TO KNOW!

We had a dog like this and funnily enough we named him after someone who was gay :d  For 6 years we tried him with different bitches, friends who are well known in the breed tried to help etc, but no success.  Eventually we took him to a man who is brilliant at mating dogs and he was there in 2 seconds :d  Still won't do it whilst we are around but he did manage to mate one of our girls after we gave up and put them in a cage together :d

Has he ever been scolded for mounting/humping? If so, he could have been taught that it's a 'wrong thing' to do, and is now incapable.

Surely if you are an experienced breeder as you say you are, you already know the answer to this question!

Yes apart frominhibition sue to training errors a dog may have low libido for good health reasons that should exclude it from breeding.

I imagine this is one reason why the Kennel Club will not allow litters by AI from dogs that have not sired pups naturally or from bitches that have not had pups naturally before.

One such condition is underactive thyroid which affects Libido and fertility.

A reluctant male can be brought around to the job with patience and an experienced bitch.

I have recently managed to get a dog I bred going as a stud at 6 1/2 years old after he had been put off by my own bitch a couple of years ago, and this with a maiden bitch.  His pups are now 5 weeks old and a second litter is hopefully due.

I've heard quite a few times that some dogs will not mate in the presence of their owners. Can't say it's ever happened to me but this could be the probelm.
