Without being too personal ;) If it's around your time of the month, it could be excess water. You can buy water retention tablets from anywhere - supermarkets, health shops etc. try these :) Also when you go from eating what you like, chips, chocs, crisps to eating salads and breads it can take a while for you to start burning off body fat, stick at it and you will see results :) Don't build yourself too high targets, if you don't reach your targets there is always next week :D Remember also that the quicker you loose weight, the quicker you will put it all back on :( Besides if you loose lots of weight quickly, you get saggy skin, so you need to loose the weight at the same rate as you exercise to tighten up the skin, if that makes sense? LOL

Good luck :D

thanks for that natalie,i always thought you lost the most weight in the first week of a diet, thats why i was excited this morning before i got on the scales, but like you said theres always next week i suppose !!!

I *think* this is just down to individuality, I would say that week 2-4 is when you make the biggest drop.

Hi there, don't be disheartened.  I seem to have been dieting forever, and most definitely will always have to watch what I eat.  I know how upsetting it can be when you don't lose weight, but I bet you next week you'll have lost tons - it catches up with you!

Keep it up!!  Just think, even though you didn't lose weight, you treated your body  much kinder with nicer foods this week!

I always got despondent and gave up on a diet as I never loose in the first week after all that being good, usually get a good loss the secodn week.  A pound or two ia a good loss so don't expect too much, after this.  Also once you are within a stone or so of your target weight it gets very hard to loose and some weeks you will stay still or even gain a pound, to loose it the next week.

scarymary, hope you don't mind me asking but how many meals are you having during the day?  If you are only having the odd snack of salad and fruit now and again this won't help.   Are you having at least 3 proper meals as suggested a day at regular times?

i have 2 meals a day i just carnt stomach breakfast at all,if i made myself eat it ,id just feel like it was a waste of my cals for the day...

Ah well.... Its IS true what they say, breakfast is the most important meal!!! I think u have a high metabolic rate in the morning, something like that- having breakfast really is a vital part for losing weight. I've been having a smoothy every morning which is good and healthy, fills u up and nothing but fruit and ice :)

Sorry to say this scarymary but it's no wonder you can't lose any weight.  You're not eating regularly enough to get your metabolism going.  Have 4 small meals a day and I'm sure that you will notice some difference.  I can;'t really say anything as I don't eat breakfast either :d
