WOW!  That was WAY more replies than I was expecting, fantastic!! It's certainly nice to know I'm not the only mad fool with loads of animals :)

To those who asked (ignore this if you've looked them up!) degus look like a cross between a gerbil and a guniea pig, and the size of a rat.  Sweet things, very smart little beggars - Danilov has learned that he can leap to the floor to get some exploring done in my rodent room :)

The cleaning isn't that bad, to whomever asked (sieve memory, soz!) - it takes me about 3 hours every week to get the cages done, and about an hour for the fish tanks (two at the moment, another when I breed smoe of my catfish :D), so nothing too bad.  Having said that, once the rats and mice are gone, I won't be getting any more - probably ever, but you never know - and most of the millis will be sold this summer.  So one day my house won't be so full ;)

I see myself in the future with only fish, degus and dogs - although, quite a few dogs... :D

Of course the 5 dogs - Taz (male), Tiva (female), Junior (male), T-Bone(female) and Dozer (male).

2 cockatiel Mortimor and Cheeko which we took cause the people didn't want em anymore -  1 budgie Spook all male and now all in one cage.

My daughter owns these :1 male rat named Snitch - 1 female hamster named Angel - 1 female mini rex rabbit named Pixie.

My son owns a female and male ferret Emma which we call Emmers sometimes, and Weasel, which we rescued from going to the humane society.

Now we have 12 animals, lol thought we had 14 but after counting again since Pudgie passed away I thought 13, recounted and was surprised only 12... Thats ok Iam not getting anymore, well thats the plan. Just planning on enjoying the ones we have. Who knows may end up rescuing some.

I have 1 dog called Leo and another puppy on the way that is due to be born on the 11th July.
I have 2 rabbits- 1 i handreared and 1 got bought into the vets i am training to be a nurse with a broken leg,
2 guinea pigs (maisie and Daisy)
5 cats ( tetley, Missy, George, Lucy and Chap)
2 Parrots- both African Greys (Frodo and Fred)
It is fatal working at a vets, before i started training to be a vet nurse i only had Leo, 3 cats and 1 parrot. Parent's have now said NO MORE ANIMALS after the new puppy. I end up taking in all the animals that are not very pretty or young and have bits missing.

I know what you mean - a lot of my rats were returns to Pets at Home when I worked there, and a few were brought in by customers as older rats, the kids were bored of them :( my nicest rat was one of those, she'd lick your arm off!

I also got a lot from college - one rat (given four friends, the four boys I have left now), my first 2 mice (Alonzo and Bozza, an escapee!) and 11 Japanese quail.  They were a mess - I had to deal with lifted scales on the legs, bumblefoot, bald heads (too many males) and poo-covered feathers from living under budgies.  I also "rescued" a pair of jap quails from a pet store once - one female had severe neurological problems, she couldn't eat (had a bad head twitch that meant she couldn't get hold of seeds - less than a month of proper care with me and she was eating well), and both were a mess - they were living in tall but not wid at all aviaries under lovebirds, with no shelter at all.  Covered in muck, and their water bowls were full of straw and poo.

Thsi is why I no longer work at pet stores :D

We have three cats, Ginger, Sadie and Itty Bitty Kitty, who were all somebody else's reject.  They all love our Lab but hate each other.  Hate to the tune of $360 in Vet fees to get the injuries stitched up.

I've only got the 4 dogs, but if all turns out well with my girls litter I might soon have 5.  Don't think that my mum and dad will be too happy but as I said I'm coming near to the end of my lines :d
