Well i said i would keep you posted thanx to those who gave advice,it is getting slowly better, although you think youve got it sorted and they show themselve up,thismorning my younger son and girlfriend left for work,Faye she always seem to jump up at i think its because she has a squeaky voice and waves her hands a lot, thismorning Faye came down calm and Zanta was very good and no jumping and sat to have a fuss, new window cleaner came in back garden and again very good, just jumped once and soon realised wrong thing to do,went for our walk and met lady with westie, who is an elderly person put Zanta on lead got her to sit and lady to bend and then stroke, all very good let her off for a play when we went to leave Zanta chased after westie and started jumping up again a rather high pitched voice and a lot of hand waving from westies owner put lead on Zanta till we turned corner and had no interaction for about 15 mins, think we are getting idea i think i will have to put lead on when leaving for a while tiill she gets hang of it,what do you think? also reading Gwen Baileys books puppy school and perfect puppy so i think if i keep implementing the advice i should win eventually i suppose rome wasnt built in a day at least nipping biting getting better mouthing quite a bit more now ocassionally forgets herself, when i have some more posotive progress will keep you informed.Thanx for advice can see it will work as long as i work at it.

Thanx for that i will,we took her down to a local shopping centre yesterday eve,and had to meet a lot of people and she was quite good some people stopped to pet her and i made her sit before they touched her and one was a little boy out with his mum and dad so i was quite proud of her,she was on her lead though its getting her to behave like that when off the lead, wish us luck today we are taking her into the town to try to get her used to lots of people, because she is so fluffy and cute it will probably take us all day,i have been socialising her and getting her used to traffic but until today didnt think she was up to being overwhelmed by to many people and strange things and noises she is 15 wks today and think she is confident enough to deal with a new experience.

The 'window of socialisation' closes at about 16 weeks, so if you leave it much longer to get her used to crowds it'll be very much harder. By 4 months ideally she needs to have had as many new experiences as possibleso that she can accept new things more easily in the future.

Thanx for advice socialisation with other dogs and hmans has been going on for about 4 weeks now since last innoculation mostly off lead when out on walks over the fields and woods,so from lastnight it was on the lead and some more situations she hasnt had before i hope i havent left it too late,my instinct tells me not,but i will keep you posted.

Just a quick update took Zanta to town thismorning Harlow town centre on a sat morn very busy, all i can say is we were so proud of her she sat when asked if people came to ask if they could fuss her,and if she was sitting or laying and people just walked past she looked at them but made no attempt to to interact, she is also very good with other dogs and just wagged her tail and watched them pass, she has also had a lot of fuss from children and loved it and behaved very well,we obviously had her on a lead being in town but she listened to what was asked of her, so hopefully we are on the way to getting a good response when off the lead,i know i still have to work hard though. She wasnt phased out by any of it and is now sleeping soundly.

Hi there, My male staffy jumped up on everyone & all the yelling no, no , no get down and smacks on the bum did not do a thing. I have been trialing the naugihty spot or room, whenever he jumps up even if we are at someone elses house i say "In the bathroom" and off he goes for at least 3-5 minutes or in the car if there is no room available, this has been very effective to the point where i say "no jumping or you go in the bathroom" and he knows exactly what i'm saying & it stops him in his tracks and i give him a little treat. Hope this helps.
