Topic Dog Boards / Health / Hot spots??
- By hairydog [gb] Date 28.06.05 21:32 UTC
My 2 and a half yr old goldie is not enjoying this weather, he has been scratching constantly for the last few days. When we look at his skin he appears to have spots under the skin which I can only describe as bites. We were on holiday last week and he was lying on grass, and we did wonder if they could be ant bites??

He is frontlined, I have been putting Sudocrem/calomine lotion on!! which does seems to help.Never had this before with him, could it be the hot weather?? Any advice very welcome.

A hotspot is an area of intense skin inflammation that usually occurs in warm months when dogs begin to exhibit allergies to fleas, pollens or food etc.

I would consider his diet, GRs fed on raw rarely get these.

Clean with Colloidal Silver and use calendula/hypericum cream which is naturally soothing and/or aloe vera.

I would try Rhus Tox or Urtica Urens 6c homeopathic remedy easily available from Boots etc

Tohme, obviously it is through years of experience with dog's that you (and others) have become so knowledgable - but how do you remember it all? :D I wouldn't remember the names of those things you have said (already forgotten!) in a million years!!!

Yes, I've cured some quite nasty hot spots just with colloidal silver - almost better overnight in this case!
