A friend of mine has a dog of the same breed as me and would like to bring him to a champ show with me but doesn't want to show him. However she would like to be benched next to me.
Is the only way of doing this is for her to enter a class and then put me down as the handler which would then get her benched next to me or is there another way (Not for Competition)

She wants the dog with her so the unentered dogs tent is not an option.

Dont know the answer, apart from changing registration, or keeping fingers crossed there are empty benches you can use, but please make sure this dog will not be upset by the atmosphere - it can be scary for dogs that have not been used to it from an early age.

The handling for should work we used to do that when I handled a friends beardies

I often put Fagan in as NFC and in order to bench him with my other boy (who is benched with the first name of the partnership which isnt mine - confused yet ;) ) I just write on his entry form "please bench with ...... " it has worked so far :) in the cataloge it often shows as handled by ........

Thanks. Sorry I wasn't very clear, he has done shows before. This will be the first show we have gone to together but she just wants to bring the dog along for the day as can't leave him at home.  I just wandered whether there was any other way it can be done apart from entering a class and whether Not for competition can only apply to your own dogs where you have to have at least one dog only entered.

I have two dogs, Alfie who is owned in partnership and Fagan who is not shown.  The first name on Alfies registration is for the other people in the partnership so we are benched with them, if I take Fagan I fill out a separate entry form for him because he is owned soley by me, I then put him in for NFC and write on the form "to be benched with" im sure your friend could do this and put " to be benched with ..." and your name.  I dont believe you have to have another dog entered in the same name - I havent :)
