Would anyone be able to tell me how you can tell if a hernia is just a late closure? One of my puppies has got a small hernia about the size of a very small pea, and another even small than this .They are nearly 4 weeks old. I am devestated, as all these pups are destined to working homes and if they turned out well the new owner may wish to breed. Of course I have endorsed all of them anyway untill I am shown satifactory health test results and all new owners sign contracts and are made to understand the importance of these. If this is not a late closure then I would have to write a new contract stating that the bitch/dog should never be bred from, I'm thinking that only a vet will be able to tell.

Any advice would be great as I am feeling rather depressed about this as other that this they are a fantastic litter.

Kerry i would'nt worry to much, as you described them as the size of a pea, there only a problem really if there larger and thats mostly when the vets operate, still it's best for the vets to check them over.

Warm regards Susan
