Hi everyone
A couple of months ago I placed a post on here asking "have I wasted my money" when I asked was my 12 year old daughter to young to show in breed as some one told me that she was better to do junior handling after I had entered and payed for a show which is in august and all you lovely people gave me great advice saying she would be fine and how many of your children show in breed,well to day we did our first ever show (a companion show) and my daughter got a 3rd in the puppy class I know it wasn't crufts but we where delighted and so was my daughter, who now cant wait to do her next show she really has the show bug.so thanks to you all who gave me advice.

Brilliant!!  My daughter started handling our dogs when she was 6 years old and proved to be better at it than me!! :)  We had a rule that she would do as she was told in the breed classes, but she would make her own choices in the handling classes.  Sometimes she made awful decisions and was judged accordingly but John, it was a wonderful learning for life!!
If your daughter enjoys it, then it's a hobby that you can do together as we did, and golly that's a big help to get through the difficult teenage years!!  Enjoy.
PS Mine won the Richmond semi-finals with a borrowed dog when she was 11 years old, and made up her own bitch (bought for her 10th birthday) to Champion in the breed classes by the time she was 13.;)

Thanks Val, thanks Dawn, she was well chuffed she's only just come off the phone after ringing all her friends!!LOL. we have an other companion show in a few weeks then our first open show on the 20th August so fingers crossed.
