as a point of interest how young is it before i can have my fcr bitch eye tested? i know hip scoring is over a year but didnt know about eye testing?

one of mine was done at 10 months,pass with flying colour just waiting for her hip and elbows result to come from the bva.

You can get your FCR eye tested for glaucoma at any time from 6 months of age, for goniodygenesis, (predisposition to glaucoma). The standard eye tests for PRA (progressive retinal atrophy), and HC (hereditary cataracts) testing can be done at the same time although it is usual to get this done at the age of one year. The glaucoma test is officially a "one off for life" test, however the breed society health committee do advise that it is redone at 7 or 8 years as age related changes can affect the eye. The standard BVA test for PRA & HC are carried out on a yearly basis.
