Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / wasp or bee sting

My two 6-month old puppies chase everything, but yesterday they were stung on the mouth.  Although the dog's mouth was very swollen, the bitch went into anaphylactic shock.  The vet says the next sting could be fatal.  How on earth can I stop them chasing flies, bees etc.  While I am at work (only 2 days a week) they live in a very large run under an oak tree.  However, I don't know if the bee/wasp was in the run or if they got it while playing in the garden.  I noticed their mouths about 5 minutes after letting them out of the run.  Now I am keeping them in the house and only walking them on a lead - which they hate as they are a big boisterous breed.

hi.... what about using some bee/wasp traps placed on the other side of the garden.like jam jars filled with tempting sticky stuff... jam/honey that sort of thing. i remember having something like those in our garden as a kid to keep them away from the doors and windows.might be worth a try :-)
