I received my vehicle licence renewal form yesterday and was pleased to see that you can now apply for your tax disc on-line.
The whole procedure took me less than 5 minutes to complete - much less hassle than hunting for your insurance documents etc and queuing up in the post office. 
Well done DVLA for moving with the times :)

That sounds great.  So how do they do it without seeing valid insurance etc?

You just input a reference number and the system automatically checks for current insurance/MOT. Then you enter your card details and the disc arrives in the post about 5 days later. Brilliant :)

im not organised enough for that, I only just remember to get my tax disc the day it is due :rolleyes:

I would say that the main advantage is that it reduces the need to be organised.  :)

but I would be taxless for the 5 days it takes to get here because I wouldnt have thought about it until the last minute !

My hubbie tried to do renew his on line at christmas, and it wouldn't work, but it is due again at the end of this month so he said he will try it again.

I got mine this morning I am going to try and do it on line ....saves a trip into town on a hot day
